Il 16 maggio, dalle ore 17:30, Arci Gagarin sarà la sede del confronto “Taranto, la fabbrica, gli operai. Risvolti politici di una questione ambientale”. Nostra ospite sarà Elisa Giuliani, Professoressa Ordinaria di Management (Università di Pisa), Prorettrice alla Sostenibilità e all’Agenda 2030 e coordinatrice del progetto Horizon Europe REBALANCE (2022-2025), che indaga il rapporto tra capitalismo e democrazia.
La docente esporrà i risultati delle ricerche aventi per oggetto le modalità con cui i lavoratori del siderurgico di Taranto hanno elaborato, nel corso degli anni, la crisi ambientale e se e come questa possa aver influito sulle scelte elettorali.
Vista la prossimità dell’appuntamento elettorale, l’incontro vedrà coinvolti alcuni candidati e candidate al consiglio comunale nelle coalizioni di centro-sinistra che si distinguono per il loro impegno civile: Valentina Basta (M5S), Cosimo Nume (Demos), Fulvia Gravame (AVS), Stefania Petaro (PD).
On May 16, starting at 5:30 PM, Arci Gagarin will host the discussion “Taranto, the Factory, the Workers. Political Implications of an Environmental Issue”. Our guest will be Elisa Giuliani, Full Professor of Management (University of Pisa), Vice-Rector for Sustainability and the 2030 Agenda, and coordinator of the Horizon Europe REBALANCE project (2022–2025), which explores the relationship between capitalism and democracy.
The professor will present the findings of research focused on how workers at the Taranto steel plant have, over the years, processed the environmental crisis, and whether—and how—this may have influenced their voting choices. Given the proximity of the upcoming elections, the event will also feature participation from some candidates for the city council running in center-left coalitions known for their civic engagement: Valentina Basta (M5S), Cosimo Nume (Demos), Fulvia Gravame (AVS), and Stefania Petaro (PD).
