A talk by Katherine McDonnell, PhD candidate in the School of Political Science and Sociology at the University of Galway.
McDonnell’s research focuses on examining power and epistemic injustice in the context of seeking remedy for corporate human rights abuses through non-judicial grievance mechanisms. Katherine is also the co-founder of Just Ground, a research and advocacy project that aims to advance the visions of communities working to address corporate activity that threatens or violates their human rights. During her time with EarthRights International, Katherine worked alongside community leaders in Myanmar to pilot a model for a Community-Driven Operational Grievance Mechanism (CD-OGM). Katherine is licensed to practice law in the state of New York, USA.
